The California Ground Transportation Regulatory Group (CGTRG) met at The Proud Bird in Los Angeles on September 15 for its most recent education and networking meeting. The event included guest speakers and panelists, along with updates on the association’s recent discussions with Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and was attended by operators, vendors, affiliates, and other industry professionals. U.S. Bank and SoCal Penske served as Platinum Sponsors of the event.
CGTRG representatives provided attendees with updates from recent meetings with LAX and CPUC officials, including discussions about issues and regulations affecting California ground transportation operators. The meetings are part of the association’s ongoing efforts to maintain communication with regulatory agencies and provide operators with information on current and upcoming requirements.
The meeting also featured presentations from Sean Arena of Limo Anywhere on technology and the future of ground transportation reservation systems, Alex Torbatian of U.S. Bank on payment solutions, and Mussie Assefaw and Delphine Pruitt of U.S. Bank on vehicle financing options.
The meeting also included an affiliate partnership panel composed of Todd Szilagyi of Best VIP Chauffeured Worldwide, Darren Croasdale of La Costa Limousine, and Araceli Theard of KLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services. The panel addressed issues affecting affiliates and operators and provided an opportunity for attendees to discuss business and industry topics.
CGTRG’s next event will be a Wage & Hour Labor Seminar on October 28 in San Francisco. The 90-minute seminar, scheduled for 3-4:30 p.m. at the law offices of O’Hagan Meyer, will cover California wage and hour requirements and issues affecting ground transportation employers. The event will be followed by dinner at Sotto Mare in San Francisco’s Little Italy. The seminar and dinner package is $150 per person, including dinner but excluding beverages.
