Barbara J. Chirico 2025 Scholarship Program
The Chauffeured Transportation Association of New Jersey (CTANJ) is pleased to announce the recipients of the Barbara J. Chirico Scholarships for 2025.
The recipients are:
- Academic Excellence Scholarship ($2,500): Gianna Azara
- Community Service Scholarship ($1,000): Olivia Gallo
- Leadership Scholarship ($500): Christopher Pellegrino
In addition, the four 2024 Barbara J. Chirico Scholarship recipients were awarded the same scholarships as received last year since each maintained a 3.2 GPA or higher for the 2024-2025 academic year. Specifically, these recipients are Tiffany Maziarz ($2,500), Lia Trenery ($2,500), Kayla Wilhalme ($1,000), and Lourdes Roman ($500).
The Barbara J. Chirico Scholarship Program was established in 2024 for the children of current CTANJ member families, including owner and employee families. The company affiliations of this year's recipients are: Arrive in Style (Maziarz), Avalon Transportation (Azara), Gem Worldwide Ground Transportation (Trenery), My Limousine Service (Pellegrino, Roman, and Wilhalme), and RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation (Gallo).
Application submissions were considered by the Scholarship Review Committee which is comprised of several CTANJ board members and Chirico’s daughter and son-in-law Deanna and Joe Gulino of Gem Worldwide.
Scholarship funds are paid directly to the scholarship recipient's educational institution. Scholarship recipients continue to be eligible for four years of college term if they maintain a GPA of 3.2 each year. Recipients are capped to four years of awards.
The Scholarship Program was established in the memory of Barbara J. Chirico, founder of Gem Worldwide Ground Transportation, past president of the National Limousine Association, and longtime CTANJ member and officer, who passed away in January 2024.
A chauffeured transportation industry trailblazer, Chirico was well known for her zest for life and the help she gave to others. The scholarship program for CTANJ families continues her legacy.
