Riverside, Calif.—Grech Motors announces the addition of AJ Thurber as VP of sales and marketing. Thurber makes the transition from Don Brown Bus Sales to lead the Grech Motors sales division and joins Grech Motors veterans John Beck, Kaye Marsielles, Larry Olivarez, Rene Martinez, David Reagan, Sue Reagan, Louis Alvarez, and Ralph Garcia.
“We are thrilled to have AJ Thurber on board with the Grech Motors team as our new VP of sales and marketing. I have worked side by side with AJ for the last 15 months and have never seen anyone with his work ethic or the level of commitment he has to his customers 24/7. With his extensive knowledge of our industry and products coupled with his energy and reputation, he is truly in a league of his own. In addition to working closely with the Don Brown team and our fantastic sales staff, AJ will lead the charge with rolling out some very innovative sales programs that will further illustrate our commitment to our customers and the industry,” says Ed Grech, president of Grech Motors.
Thurber joined Don Brown in 2009 to launch its luxury bus division with a focus on expanding its presence in the limousine industry not just for market share, but also for giving back to the industry by supporting local, regional, and national associations. Thurber grew the Don Brown luxury division into one of the country’s largest bus distributors to the industry.
“We have had the privilege to enter an industry together, and build relationships and products that are second to none. Together we developed our manufacturing and dealer support network—a winning combination that we will continue as we go forward. We wish AJ all the very best as he continues his career,” says Mark Sebast, president of Don Brown Bus Sales.
“The synergy between Grech Motors and Don Brown has proven to be one of a kind and resulted in the leading manufacturer distributor relationship in our industry’s history,” Thurber says. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to advance my career within the industry while maintaining the strong bond between DBBS and Grech Motors. Together, we will be taking both companies to new levels of success.”

San Francisco, Calif.—Planet Halo introduced its production model PH4 vehicle recorder in early 2013, a unique device that incorporates two high-resolution camera lenses, a GPS module, audio recorder, G-force inertial sensor, audio speaker, and mini-DVR with SD card. The device’s mounting bracket incorporates input jacks for the included external cameras, a remote video monitor, USB connectivity, and the power connection.
Designed specifically for commercial fleet vehicles, the PH4 captures video over the entire interior length of the passenger compartment and views from the driver’s perspective towards the front of the vehicle. The external cameras are designed to mount on the side of the vehicle, which are teardrop-shaped, 2” long, and weatherproof. A universal camera, the PH square, can be affixed for a variety of purposes including use as a backup camera or recording for inside the passenger compartment.
The software included in the PH4 records and compiles crisp clear video data from all four cameras, continuous GPS positioning, speed, G-force data, and programmed or triggered events and displays them all on a user friendly viewer. Management can now track their vehicle routes, speeds, stops and starts, driver and passenger behavior while viewing the actual video events as they occurred in 720p, with night vision and variable bit rate recording capabilities.
The PH4 is the only fully contained multi-channel recorder on the market. No need for separate DVRs with cabled in cameras, external power supplies, separate GPS tracking devices or custom reporting software to compile your data. There are no recurring monitoring fees, and customers own and control 100 percent of their video and data.
