California operators will see some financial relief this year as the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) recently approved Resolution M-4873 at its December 2024 meeting. The resolution reduces PUCTRA fees from the previous rate of 0.003 to 0.001, which went into effect at the beginning of the year.
The resolution had the full support of the California Ground Transportation Regulatory Group (CGTRG), an advocacy and education organization founded in 2024 that fights for the chauffeured transportation industry in the Golden State. CGTRG officials say it will offer much-needed financial relief for passenger carrier operators across state.
Continuing their commitment to education, CGTRG will hold its next Wage and Hour Labor Seminar this February 13 at 12:00 p.m. in San Fransisco. The organization kicked off their labor series this past October with a session in Newport Beach. This upcoming session will again be led by Joseph Lordan, a partner at O'Hagan Meyer, with more than 15 years of industry experience. His expertise and understanding of labor laws will provide essential guidance specifically for California business operations. The seminar will take place at the San Fransisco office of O’Hagan Meyer. Pre-registration is required, and the $100 cost includes lunch and a one-year membership in CGTRG. Visit cgtrg.org/events for more information and to register.
Founded by Mo Garkani of The COTS Group and industry veterans Jack Nissim and Mark Stewart in 2024, CGTRG unites California's regulatory agencies, including the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), California Highway Patrol, and California regional airports, with state legislators, chauffeured transportation companies, industry leaders, and experts.
