Friendly Competition Drives Day Two of the 2026 CD/NLA Executive Retreat in Miami

CD/NLA Executive Retreat

One of the things that sets the CD/NLA Executive Retreat apart from our fall and Vegas shows is the top-level education that we provide. The sessions we offer during our summer getaways are more immersive and hands on then we can provide at our larger events. For instance, we’re highly excited about the two-part deep dive into sales from our featured speaker Victor Antonio on Monday, but we’re equally geared up for Tuesday’s programming, which is going to be both enlightening and fun.

CD/NLA Executive Retreat Ken Lucci will moderate the roundtable competition

On Tuesday morning, we’ve developed a roundtable session designed to stress-test your leadership in real time with a healthy bit of competition. With oversight from Moderator Ken Lucci of Driving Transactions, attendees will be divided into groups of six to eight to tackle a series of common challenges faced by folks every day in our industry. Each table will assume the role of both a small to mid-size operator as well as a mid- to larger operator and navigate four business problems based on business size and operational scenarios.

Past retreat roundtables have brought out fast and furious competition among operators, and this will be no different. As you put yourself in what may be a different set of shoes, you’ll face challenges like moving from a “lifestyle job” to becoming a dedicated company owner. In this case, you’ll consider what’s involved with hiring an operations manager and how your culture and company vision will be maintained. Another challenge puts you in the position of transitioning into motorcoaches, while you consider the financial factors (and stresses) involved with this business-changing decision. In our third challenge, you can put some of that sales expertise you’ve learned on Monday to the test, as you’ll explore what’s involved in hiring and outside salesperson for a large company, and the processes and strategies employed with developing this position. Finally, our groups will prepare a strategy based on acquiring a new business or being a potential seller. While the teams collaborate and list best ways they would deal with the situations, their answers will be graded by veteran industry judges, until ultimately one winning team and one runner up team are selected after lunch. And yes, there will be cool prizes—not to mention those valuable bragging rights!

“The roundtable session was by far the best. It opens the dialogue and connects with operators you know on a higher level. I definitely got many great ideas and takeaways from the roundtable and made some great connections.  Amazing event,” says Lore Swartzendruber of Xquisite Limo.
