The Forward Motion Peer Group, an online peer group for chauffeured ground transportation operators hosted by the Growth and Success Institute, recently featured PAX Training President James Blain as a guest speaker during its recent private virtual meeting. Blain is also the co-host of the Ground Transportation Podcast, which he helms with Ken Lucci of Driving Transactions.
PAX Training President James Blain
Forward Motion is a community of motivated chauffeured transportation and bus company owners who come together to share, learn, and grow by focusing on real-world strategies to scale businesses, improve operations, and increase profitability.
During the presentation, Blain addressed pressing operational challenges within the industry, sharing actionable solutions across four key areas:
- Insurance Costs: Highlighting that while overall accident frequency is dropping, per-claim costs are rising—forcing insurance carriers to price policies based on claim severity rather than frequency.
- Customer Experience: Emphasizing the "7-Second Rule," where chauffeurs set the immediate tone for the brand through personal appearance, vehicle cleanliness, and attitude.
- The 72-Hour Rule: Explaining why operators must take concrete, systematic action within 72 hours of an operational issue before momentum dissolves into excuses and inaction.
- Process & Systems: Demonstrating how consistent operational practice and post-event "game-day reviews" prevent minor errors from becoming major business liabilities.
"James delivered practical, highly relevant insights that hit right at the heart of what operators are facing today," said Growth and Success Institute Founder Umut Aslan. "Having a space where operators can dissect these issues together is exactly why Forward Motion exists."
The online session brought together established operators and owners, including Selim Aslan and Mahlon Williams of Men In Black Transportation, Tom Soliman of All Starz Limousine, Demetrio Lee of Elegance Limousine, Juan David Lopez of Montely, Kristen Sweet of Triangle Bus Charters, and Shaey Chavez of Pinehurst Chauffeured Transportation.
The group currently has two spots available for growth-minded operators looking to join the group. If interested in applying, visit growthandsuccessinstitute.com/online-limo-and-bus-peer-groups-the-forward-motion.
