CD Show Manager Lauren D'AmbraMarlton, N.J.—Lauren D’Ambra brings her vibrant energy to the Chauffeur Driven team as show manager.
D’Ambra is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa. with a B.S. in food marketing; she has over 10 years of experience in event planning and management. In the past, she has worked for Wachovia, SPW Productions, Harrah’s Entertainment, and Good Time Tricycle Productions. A few notable events she has produced include: The Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival, The Atlantic City Seafood Festival, Bizarre AC, and The Steamtown Beer and Music Festival in conjunction with Live Nation. During the production of these events, she has wrangled crowds numbering in the thousands—a skill that will come in most useful for the upcoming CD events in Toronto and Atlantic City.
This is her first position in the chauffeured ground transportation industry, which is a challenge she is eager to meet head-on with both her wits and creativity to guide her. “I’m super excited to experience all that this industry has to offer; it’s definitely a thrilling, new avenue for me,” says D’Ambra. “Over the past few weeks, I’ve gotten to jump right in with both feet and interact with a good many fascinating industry people already. I can’t wait to meet them in person at the shows and association meetings.”
In terms of the Chauffeur Driven Show (taking place at the resplendent Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, Nov. 2-5) itself, D’Ambra had this to say: "I want to expand, bring in more attendees, and take the show to the next level this year!”
D’Ambra can be reached at lauren@chauffeurdriven.com or 856.334.1988.

WFLA members (L to R): Dave Shaw, Dennis Rochford, Gus Shahin, Jerry Chavez, Justin Nystedt, Blaze Basevic, Jeremy Jenkins, and Dewey Buxton.Tampa, Fla.—The most recent meeting of the West Florida Livery Association (WFLA) was held on the March 18.
This meeting was solely dedicated to a duo of government bills that were introduced at the state level. These bill are: SB 1618 and HB 1389; they are more commonly known in Florida as the “Chauffeured Limousine and Safety Act.” This proposed legislation will de-regulate the ground chauffeured transportation service on the local level. The House chair on the transportation committee, Sen. Jeff Brandes (R-22nd District), titled these bills “The Uber Bills” because the “declawing” of these long-standing state laws will greatly benefit the opportunistic TNCs across the state of Florida. These two bills in the state House and Senate are essentially rewriting the legislative book in regard to how the limousine industry is regulated in the Sunshine State. If the bills pass, the state would then become the governing authority supplanting the current county and local organizations that control ground chauffeured transportation services.
WFLA members attended a House of Representatives committee meeting in Tallahassee, Fla. to vehemently oppose these bills. WFLA representatives were in the state capital to speak on the bills, and represent the industry at the Senate Transportation committee meeting on 3/26. They were also in Tallahassee to continue the fight on 4/2 and 4/3 as well.
As it stands now, Uber can only conduct business in the city of Jacksonville. They were unceremoniously banned in Miami, and other Florida cities are openly fighting off the unwanted advances of the overbearing TNC. Uber remains undeterred, however, throwing all of its considerable resources behind this legislation that could allow its service to operate across the state.
This situation is still developing, and CD will have more as it unfolds.
